The Parish Planning Team Meeting met on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 7:35 P.M. with an opening prayer by
Mike Takacs. All member of the Parish Planning Team were in attendance, except for Tina Bidic who was excused.
The minutes of the November, 2006 meeting were read and approved.
Kathie Downie submitted a recap of the Diocesan meeting on December 9th at St. Mary's Church in Williamstown. The report included the Bishop's six areas of pastoral concern. All Parish Planning Team members received a copy.
Mike Takacs reported on the Diocesan meeting held at Camden Catholic High School on January 6. 2007. It was a report on Phase II of the parish planing process. Those attending the meeting were Mike Takacs, Deacon Chris Nichols, Pat Hannum, Rich Falk, Roseanne DeFrancisco, and Joe Veight. There were presented with a binder comprised of the 2006 Parish Data Reports, Facilities Reports and the Population Trends from Deanery 8. Copies were then made for the remaining team members.
Mike Takacs appointed members of the planning team to the following committees:
Financial Trends - Rich Falk, John Montana, Sharon Shephard
Parish Data & Mass Count - Deacon Chris Nichols, Vince Trovarelli, Joan Frith, Theresa Bifulco
General Population Info & Trends - Pat Hannum, Joe Veight, Dona Veight, George Olivio,
Communications - Beth Takacs, Marilyn Szalay, Kathie Downie
Facilities - Roseanne DeFrancisco, Tom Cushane, Joe Webb, Tina Bidic
Each Committee was asked to meet and discuss their areas of concern and report back at the next scheduled parish planning team meeting on January 30, 2007.
The closing prayer was said by Deacon Chris.

November 16, 2006
The Parish Planning Team Meeting was held on Thursday, November 16, 2006 with an opening prayer by Chairperson Mike Takacs at 7:10 P.M. In attendance were Fr. Jay, Theresa Bifulco, Tom Cushane, Roseanne DeFrancisco, Kathie Downie, Richard Falk, Joan Frith, Pat Hannum, Deacon Chris, Marilyn Szalay, Vince Trovarelli, Beth Takacs, Mike Takacs, Joe Veight, and Joe Webb. TIna Bidic, John Montana, George Olivio, Sharon Shephard and Dona Veight were unable to attend.
The minutes of the October 5, 2006 meeting were read and approved.
Mike Takacs spoke of the Bishop's, meeting held in Woodstown in November 2006 and the Bishop's vision of making better, optimistic changes that will be coming in the Diocese in the future. Mike gave copies of the handouts from the November meeting pertaining to the diocesan planning phases which will be instituted during September 2006 through August 2008. Included in the handout were four recommended planning processes to be reviewed and implemented by the Parish Planning Team. Process B and D were discussed, with a motion to include St. Ann's parish in Elmer as part of the planning process. the motion was approved.
The next order of business was to ask for volunteers to attend a workshop to be held on Saturday, December 9th at St. Mary's in Williamstown. Vince Trovarelli and Kathie Downie volunteered to attend. A report on this meeting should be available for the January 9, 2007 parish planning team meeting.
A Diocesan In-Service Planning Day is scheduled for Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Camden Catholic High School. Deacon Chris (representing Fr. Jay), Chairperson Mike Takacs, Joseph Veight, Roseanne DeFrancisco, Pat Hannum and Rich Falk volunteered to attend.
The Parish Planning Team's next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 7:30 P.M. in the rectory.
Fr. Jay concluded the first meeting with a closing prayer.
